Here's a good cold storage in SE
« on: August 16, 2008, 09:13:17 AM »
If any of you happen to be hunting in the SE part of the state and find yourselves in need of a cold storage for meat, then a good option is Wilson Banner Ranch.  Hunting season is the off season for an orchard/vegetable farm, so they rent the cold storage for hanging game.  I've hung a couple elk and deer with them with great service.  If you can get to cell coverage to let them know you're coming, then they'll be ready for you with a forklift at midnight Sunday night if you need it.  They charge $10 a day for an elk and $5 for a deer, if I remember correct.  They are located on the East side of Alpowa Grade between Pomeroy and Clarkston, about 15 minutes from each.

Yeah, with the Foothills tag and the PM I sent, he'll need some storage for sure!  Of course it'll be in November when he's there, so he could just use my shop.

i freak out every october thinking i'm going to lose meat to spoilage, but it always seems to get cold enough at night. knowing that the wilsons do the cold storage will put my mind at ease some.
