North American Hunting Club?
« on: August 04, 2012, 10:40:35 PM »
About once a year i get something in the mail from the North American Hunting Club to join them and take part in their hunting field test panel.  Pretty much they want me to field test new gear, give them my opinion of how it worked, and then i would get to keep whatever it was i tested.

So my question is has any member here ever taken part in this or is it just a scam?  I tried looking online to find out about them and they look legit, but i have always lived by if it is to go to be true it probably is.  Your opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

I am a life member, about ten years now.  I got a little pack of gun oil to test this year, forgot about responding, that pack is around here somewhere....  Guess I won't get the rifle or Zeiss binos to test.   :o

been a Life member for 18yrs. Never got anything to test: i didn't always sign up every month. I do get decent magazine every month.
They recently just changed the way stuff is handed out. They sub it out to a company started by former employees. They have a list of items with point values. you start with enuff points that you can test something quicker. I even saw that some items are available now (they actually need testers to sign up).
My estimate is that I've gotten my money back with just the magazine.

I was a member for about a year. I never got anything to test but while I was a member my mail box was inundated with advertisements/promo offers. They also like to send you crap that you have to send back if you don't want it, or you get billed for it. The final straw that caused me to cancel my membership was that they started sending me bills for one of these packages even though I had shipped it back to them. In my opinion the membership is not worth the hassles.

Not worth the stamp to send in the reply....  I dislike any company that sends you *censored*, then bills you for it, but you never ordered it..  The magazine is not worth the other crap they do.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Right when I signed up, they said that they would give me a backpack and a knife for signing up. I never got those. I was a member for 3 years, and all that I got was a packet of seasoning. I did get a nice book from them about elk, but I had to pay for it  :P
