Bow Scabbard Recommendations??

Doing a horse hunt for moose this fall, does anyone have recommendations for a good scabbard?  Also, if someone wants to loan me one that would be great too?     I will be gone September 2 to 21.  Thanks.

trantualla used to make one heck of good scabbard. If I still have it in my uhhumm "storage unit" i can send it your way. The days of having one are over for me.

I wast aware they made a scabbard for a bow, that would be nice but I'd be interested to see how it worked. On my archery horseback hunt in Wyoming I just used my eberlestock X1, worked great except when your horse decides to try and go under tree limbs, trying to duck under them makes it kinda vulnerable. The primos sling seemed to be another decent option but it's not as hands free as the pack, and tends to make the bow bounce around a little more.

The outfitter said it would be better attached to the horse, at least for the ride into our camp.

I'd have the bow in a hard case for your trip in , then ride one handed and hold your bow . a horse can get hurt quick and destroy a bow pretty fast . thats the way i've allways done it and more than once have avoided a seriuos problem . good luck on your hunt .

You might try contacting Sandy Caster at Remedy7 Gear/Blacks Creek.  I saw some samples of what she is working on and they look fantastic.  Website says "Coming Soon", but you might get lucky with a prototype or early release.  She's got a behind the seat truck scabbard that is a great idea and terrific design.  Won't help you on that hunt, but something to look for in coming months.

Anytime you will be taking a bow into the back country by horse or ATV you need to make sure you write all your tuning measurements down and have them with you along with a bow square and small measuring tape.  I like to lazer print them on weatherproof label material and mount t  my bow or quiver.  Tiller, rest height and peep height are all things that can easily get knocked out of whack with bouncing, banging and trampling.  Shoot often to verify all is well.  Peep sights should be secured with extra diligence on such hunts.  If you do not have enclosed pins on your sight bring extra fibers or a rigid cover.  Extra launchers for rests.  Extra D-Loop material.  All are things that take up very little room and add almost no weight.  They can keep that backcountry bowhunt from becoming a rifle hunt for under two ounces and a few bucks.

yep i carry a care pack with a rachet strap, strings ( set up with last years peep ) extra sight allan wrenches , soom hot melt and serving string . good recomendations Rav.

My horseback hunt it was suggested I just hold my bow as well, makes for a much less enjoyable ride in my opinion, but I'm not an experienced horseman. One day the mule I was riding spooked and turned to run back down hill... with one hand holding onto the bow and the other one on the reins it didn't turn out well, luckily my bow wasn't too damaged and I survived the short tumble. I also didn't like that my hand and arm would get fatigued, making me less confident when it came down to drawing on a bull. Just my opinion but I was not a fan of having to hold onto the bow while riding. We did carry the bow into camp in a hard case.

We had ours in soft bags slung between pommel and the rigging at the back of the saddle and under the stirrup... did that a couple years.
The outfitter had paniers that would hold a bow the last year, but weren't really made for the newer parallel limb bows. 
The safest at least for the initial ride in to back country would be a hard case on the mule.  Either way, good horseman or not I wouldn't want to ride one handed.

I found it..its a blacks creak soft side..cordova line on the horse side.
