Oh NO!!! :yike: :yike: :yike:  I feel a C-Post festival coming on.  The never ending joke that never ceases to annoy.

What are the dates for that hunt?

The whole damn place is hot unless you think they are goats.  If you are in good shape I expect you will have no problems at all.  Hard to go wrong with that tag as long as you aren't trying to hunt it from your truck.

Go on a bear hunt in late August or early September up there.  Anywhere!  I'm sure you will not need anyones help finding elk after that.  If that doesn't get you a good elk spot I'll be amazed.

He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Get up there early in the a.m. The elk head for the timber just after daylight. I set my little tent up on the ridges the night before so the next morning I was already looking at elk.
There is no snow at short camp but coleman weed patch has alot of blowdown and snow left.
Over on the packwood saddle there is still alot of snow as well as PCT at snowgrass.
No secret honey holes! Just get up and look around. When season is here, just be out and listen for the bugle!

The Goat Rocks Wilderness is pretty large for the amount of tags they give out (5?), a few guys I know have went in From Chambers Lake and take the right trail towards Snowgras flats.  When you get to the Bridge over Goat Creek about a mile or so in, take a left and follow the creek cross country and set up camp in the valley.  A good spot to hunt from.
