nisqually kings get the lockjaw really bad, which sucks because it gets more fish than just about every other south sound river combined.   the bite can really come and go quickly when it does happen.  good bait usually gets it done.

I took a king on this combo on the Nisqually. We had run out of eggs.

A corky and yarn is just fine for kings.

Just a precaution if you guys end up in the military side of river, the Police are there every day of last week checking military id's, fishing license & hooks for barb.  Saw a guy get an $80 ticket for fishing with barb hook, then gets ask to leave because he does not have military id or a access pass from range control.

Even military id card holders must get a access pass from range control.  They just implemented the access pass from range control three days ago.

Fish are jumping, but rarely bite.

wow, they seem pretty intent on making fishing on fort lewis property as difficult as possible, don't they?  i remember when you could just drive out on base, get your pass, and you were good for the season.
