« on: August 19, 2008, 12:01:01 PM »
My freind and I both drew for 08 he has the cow in Mt. Spokane and I drew the huckleberry for any. We have been scouting since we drew the tags. Not seeing may moose and no bulls at all. Any suggestions would be helpful. We both archery hunt.

You really won't see many moose this time of year.  They are holed up in the heat.  About Oct. 1 they will start rutting and will come to calls.  There are a bunch of threads on here from other guys with moose tags.  Read through them.

Don't be too concerned, there are good numbers in both areas.  I'm seeing moose just about every time out bear hunting or elk scouting.  As mentioned above the heat is a big factor.  As it cools you'll see em more.  I'd suggest scouting w/ you optics very early and very late.  No need to be bustin brush at this time of year.

wait for the rut last week of september through mid October.  This time of year they hang aroung lakes, swamps, eating willows, etc...during the rut look for cows...usually bulls are around area.  I would spend time this month looking for old rubs, sign talking with locals, etc... Good Luck I wish I was you.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!
