I know everone who put in got drawn but I'm having a hard time paying an extra 180 bucks this year. It's not that I dont have the money but I have already spent a ton and not sure I want to spend more. The deadline is almost here and I think I will pass this year...what about you guys?

Depends on what else you are hunting for this year. i didn't put in for it because i hunt deer, elk, grouse, ducks, pheasant and geese so i don't want to dedicate that much time on one animal. If you only hunt deer than go for it
More time=Better chance at an animal

I'm also thinking about not doing it. I think the thing that makes me not want to is the fact that they jacked up the price for a second deer(300% increase +or -). Got the money, just don't think it's worth it. Elk though would be a different story, especially since I haven't been drawn for 5 years. Oh yea, and I'd have to buy a bow tomorrow!!!! (That is in reference to another post.)

Huh, that sucks. I finally drew it this year and DID buy it and am happy about it. It took me about 4 years to draw it. I wonder how many other times (not counting this year) that people just casually put in for it and decided not to buy it, ruining the chances for a person like me who is happy to purchase it? Thanks!

I will not be purchasing one. I dont want to drop 180 bucks right now and hopefully with 3 archery seasons, I will be able to tag out. If not, oh well.

its more than that, thats for the multi season license, plus you still have to buy the tag itself and cannot buy it in the package combo so you end up paying more for your other tags too. just a big scam. i would have spent the money if i got drawn for multi season elk but that didnt happen

It's a scam for deer but not elk?

hah, no still a scam for elk but id want a multi season elk bad enough to accept that. also you can hunt east & west if you have the multi season, so i think its a bit more beneficial than multi deer

I don't see how it's a scam at all. You draw the tag, you buy it. 181 bucks or whatever it is. It's worth it to me I've had the tag 4 times now for deer and 2 times for elk. It's an expensive tag but I enjoy hunting, I'm not just out there to fill a tag and put 50lbs of meat in the freezer. If increased time and opportunity in the field is a scam to you then I'd say please don't apply for the tag in the future. I don't blame people for not wanting to buy the tag, it's a lot of money for a resident deer tag, but calling it a scam is a joke.

okay, well i think that making you buy your tag seperate and not being able to do it as part of the discount package deal is a joke.

between the cost of the license and that fact and app fee really ends up being more like a 250 dollar deal.and for most people who have limited time off to take for hunting thats just not worth it

They threw out 8500 deer permits knowing full well not all would be bought. Its not about opportunity, its about selling permits and tags......nothing more than a money grab for a resource that does not support increased pressure or harvest. Another instance of showing their lack of care and understanding of our big game resources.
I wont buy mine, and will never apply again.

I bought my deer tag in a deer elk bear cougar combo package. Then I just had to buy the multiseason tag after I drew. Like I said might not be worth it to some people, but to many of us it is. The last 2 years I have killed a bear during archery season, simply because I was out in the field and was given the opportunity. You learn a lot about animals by hunting them starting in velvet, through all the seasons and finally into the post rut. Just my opinion, hopefully most people think its a scam and don't buy the tag, the one negative I have seen to the multiseason is increased pressure on archery season

I bought mine and i normally archery hunt so i figure i would kill a deer sept 1st and kiss my 180 bucks goodbye. If i dont kill one with my bow and get to hunt the Muzzy and modern season i figure 180 bucks well spent.

I wont be buying mine. Recently outta work so I can't afford the tag or gas of the extra seasons. Also I didn't get enough practice in and don't feel confident enough to take a deer with a bow yet.
