Angry Birds!
« on: September 05, 2012, 09:47:22 AM »
I woke up at sunrise this morning to 20 or 30 Crows at my neighbor's fir tree screaming their heads off.  I figure they chased an owl or something into the tree and are harrassing it.  Now, at nearly 10:00 AM, they're still out there at it!  If my mother hadn't loved crows so much, I'd shoot every goddam one of them!  >:(
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

My mother did--She used to say that when she was a little girl on the farm she'd wake up in the morning and listen to them.  Right up 'til she died at 83, she loved to watch them.  That's why I can't bring myself to shoot one, no matter how much I'd like to.

How about a warning shot, in their deduction.

Not in this residential neighborhood.  The only thing I shoot is my shrouded-barrel 22 pellet pistol.  Yesterday morning I walked over to the neighbor's tree, and the neighbor's wife was working in the garden under the tree while the crows were raising hell.  I asked her what she did to piss off the crows, and she said: "I thought it was your handiwork!".  I bent down and picked up a dead Starling and said: "No--THIS is my handiwork."  :chuckle:

All is quiet this morning.  Guess whatever the crows were harrassing is gone.  When I'm out coyote hunting, sometimes I put out my Squawking Magpie decoy, and play crow calls on my e-caller, and crows, magpies and hawks come in from miles away to see what the commotion is!
