i know, i was just giving a reference point for next year.  you can't keep fall chinook anywhere on the skagit, but springers are a different story

Going to the Stilly this afternoon. I don't expect much, but it is worth a shot.

I wish I could just go spearfishing  :chuckle: They were there, but they just wouldn't bite. Oh well. Thanks to Ripper, I have fish in the freezer  :drool:

it's very frustrating when they're there, but won't hit anything.  makes me pull my hair out

When we get a big rain I will hit the Skagit.  Before the rain I haven't had great luck.

I finally got one to bite  :IBCOOL: I didn't have my silver and chartruese dick nite, so I had to use a brass, and a half pink half white dick nite, both of which were wee's. I put on the brass dick nite, and I put it in front of these fish multiple times. Nothing. Then I went to the pink dick nite. WHAM. Finally, a fish out of the river......not. About 6 seconds later, it was off  :bash: All of the fish in that spot scattered. I just shrugged it off, but when I pulled up my dick nite, I noticed that the hook had been straightened  :yike: Oh well, thats fishing. I guess I will have to put a little bigger hook on next time  :dunno:

Went 0 for 1 on silvers in the skagit... one followed me in and i saw it hit, i set the hook, my knot comes undone, and the fish swims off. SOOOOOOO frustrating

Kola 1st thing I always do is change out the hooks on the dick nites. Stay with the same size or it will ruin the action. :twocents:

Silvers are thick in the Skagit!!!!! and they're biting too!!  Limited in less than an hour this morning at first light, had 2 others on, they were hitting a tiny gold hot shot.
