It seems worth it for what you get. The problem is when you get into sketchy situations or other dogs are around the dog could be totally different and its nice to have the e collar as a safety. I have a dogtra that I think was a little over 100 dollars, well worth it in my opinion and they seem to last for a lot of seasons

You get what you pay for with e-collars. I really would not buy anything other than TriTronics or Dogtra. Sportdog has a nice return policy and you'll likely use it a lot if you use their collars.
