Roadkill Blacktail near Arlington

This 4X4 blacktail lost a decision to a minivan near Arlington this morning.  I was impressed with the very large body and already swollen neck.  The deer was still alive when I arrived on scene so it wasn't bloated from laying there all night or anything.

The last word I got the owner of the land where it ended up was calling his brother who has a bow tag I believe to come and get it.  I went on my way because it made me sad to see such a great animal end that way.  He was pretty busted up.

I have taken 3 blacktails that big....  it was always a happy/sad moment when I got to the downed monarch...

Who cares. At least it won't get wasted if that happens. It is such a nice buck. Hwy. 530  I know where a buck was there that may be him because that grass kind of looks like it
