Roadkill Blacktail near Arlington
« on: September 27, 2012, 06:24:07 PM »
This 4X4 blacktail lost a decision to a minivan near Arlington this morning.  I was impressed with the very large body and already swollen neck.  The deer was still alive when I arrived on scene so it wasn't bloated from laying there all night or anything.
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart
He made wide open spaces from the start
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

Beautiful buck, too bad.

Very sad that would have made many hunters season to bag a blacktail that size.

The last word I got the owner of the land where it ended up was calling his brother who has a bow tag I believe to come and get it.  I went on my way because it made me sad to see such a great animal end that way.  He was pretty busted up.

Who cares. At least it won't get wasted if that happens. It is such a nice buck. Hwy. 530  :dunno: I know where a buck was there that may be him because that grass kind of looks like it :P
