First Grouse Limit
« on: September 29, 2012, 10:53:33 PM »
Went out for a quick hike today in Cle Elum and scored my first ever grouse limit in less than 3 hours. Saw 2 others as well. Awesome day all the way around!!

Good job, but do you know the limit is 4 birds?

I had no idea the limit was 4. Has it always been 4? For some reason I had it in my head as 3. Oh well, still had a great time and bagged me some great table fare

No, it only changed 2 or 3 years ago.

But yeah....  lol.... jokes on you.
It went up to 4 birds a day in 2010.  lol

Oh well, theres allways next time, right......    :chuckle:
It's more than I got in one day thus far this year.

Thanks everyone. I've only hunted grouse a couple of times in the last 4-5 years but with last weekends luck, I think I may spend a few more days afield than in past years. I'd also forgotten how tasty they are...

Good for you!  I've never done well on grouse, so I just view them as something to kill time with until the real bird season starts.  If I could get three in a day, I'd probably be out there a lot more often too.
