Some nice blacktail bucks on my trail camera
« on: September 30, 2012, 09:54:11 PM »
I put up one of my trail cameras in one of my honey holes and got some great bucks on the cam.  I saw 12 deer tonight but the ones whose head I saw had no antlers.  It's so dry that the deer are all blowing out as soon as I move into the meadow they are in.

Hopefully I can find one of those big boys in October!

Looks like a perfect spot.  Especially since you are getting daylight photos.  I hope you are getting some doe pictures in your honey hole as well, so when the rut starts up they stick around.

Yeah - I'm about 50/50 doe to buck.  Unfortunately I've only ever seen one buck on the hoof in there (found the spot last in December) but I'm always seeing does.  I'm thinking it's going to be a hot spot come the final week of October.

thats going to be a sweet spot to set yourself up for a vension dinner.  hopefully its not in town, on sierra pacific or gated land.  get some apple or something out there to keep their interest up and the does around.  good luck hope to see one hanging from a meat pole later in the season.
