Elk muzzy hunting
« on: October 03, 2012, 03:51:35 AM »
First year muzzy elk hunting question West side.  Just wondering if cow calling and bugling are recommended during the early season.  Usually bow hunt, but work issues kept me from doing it this year.  Decided to buy a muzzy tag, and am just curious if the elk will/are responding to calling at this time.  Thanks for your time.

I know of 6 different bulls that as of Sunday were still bugling.  Unfortunately those bulls are now in areas that are closed because of fire danger.   :bash:

I watched a band this morning with at least three mature bulls.  Two were bugling their fool heads off, and the third was silent all morning.  SW WA, low elevation.
