What was your hanging weight at the butcher. My bear was 125 bone in with an estimated "on the paw" weight of about 250. Your bear looks way bigger than mine.

We found that to be quite true at 50%.  When guiding on the coast we tried to take clients bear to the Bubblebee plant to have them weighed before gutting when possible.  After removing the hide, head and guts they would be very close to half the weight.  Though late season bear with a good 2" layer of fat would mess up that calculation.  But heck, padding the numbers on those bear never led to any complaints :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
