The model 700ml is one of the very good ML's I really like mine even though they are retired....

Knight or Traditions.... Man I am way to biased to give you a unbiased opinion - but the traditions should not even be in the same discussion with a Rem 700 and a Knight....

Now that I have been somewhat harsh... you know it really comes down to what you are comfortable with.  Todays ML's, almost all of them are accurate and work.  Your or our problem here in the Pac Northwest is the restriction that we have to meet to be able to use one during ML season.  Most manufactures are not building this type of ML - they have long ago moved on to 209 ignition, so for them to offer a cap gun they have to make some sort of modification that they really do not want to make and one that they can make really inexpensivly... except possible the Knight which still offers a gun specifically built to shoot caps... the Big Horn series can shoot all 3 ignition systems as does the Remington, although I personally would not recommend the Big Horn with a 209 ignition.

And then you can get a Knight DISC Extreme with a western breech breech plug and really be in the game...

You can shoot either Musket or number 11 mag caps and they are exposed after the bolt is closed...

The one big problem... with the Extreme is probably price... you can get a lot of other legal guns for less money.... but again I'll say I am biased but the Extreme is well worth it...

GOING BACK TO KNIGHT!!!!! I shot a knight wolverine for years then bought a new traditions vortex last year i still like the break action however last year i had misfires on 3 really nice muley bucks then connected on my unheard of 4th chance. I delt with traditions custormer sevice and they sent me some new trigger assemblys( as i convinced 2 freinds to buy them to) we removed the smaller agtonstic spring in the trigger and seemed to not misfire while shooting this summer. Then yesterday i had a nice buck @30 yards ond CLICK...... no fire . Well anyone wants to buy a vortex northwest magnum send me a PM cuz  i'm done gonna buy the disc extreme all AMERICAN MADE!!!!!

I have two big horns and while they are not loaded with options, they are a great shooting rifle.

I have the Rem 700ML and cant get rid of it because it just keeps doing the job.  If I was to buy new now it would be a Knight for sure.  Nothing even close to those barrels.

My husband smashed his Traditions into a hundred pieces and threw it away after 1 season if that helps any.

Knight and Remington are far and above the Traditions line.

If you are selling your 700ML, which model .50 cal or .54cal.  I might know an interested party.

I have all 3 of them.  I started out with the 700. I still like it, very accurate.  I have a disc extreme and a LHR. I bought my son the vortek lasy year. I like it, no problems so far. I used it on my deer this year. The vortek is more accurate for me.

How many times did you have to pull the trigger before it fired?

Every time I pull the trigger on my traditions it goes off.  Ask the spike I shot on Sunday, oh wait you can't he's dead.

The Traditions was a real dud for us, fired 1 out of 3 times and the stainless steel was of poor quality. Very unreliable. We shouldn't have to rebuild the thing to correct it either. I have a friend that has a Traditions and he hasn't had the issues we had. Can't argue about the accuracy and ergonomics of the gun, but a guy can't wonder if it's going to fire or not when there is an animal in front of him.
 
BTW, shame on us for buying a gun made in Spain and not made in the U.S. like a Knight

I don't have the experience to judge, so I went the safe route (and bought U.S.A.) and just ordered a Knight Disc Extreme Western'd from Sportsmans Warehouse. Did lots of price shopping. Bad = having to pay Wa sales tax. Good = finding a discount code online that saved me a bit.

Could have done a bit better going thru GunBroker but the boss wanted me to buy from S.W. since there is a local store just in case I have problems.

Don't know why she puts up with me!
