Kryptek Camo
« on: October 10, 2012, 10:45:02 AM »
After a lot of research and shopping, I decided I would try out the Kryptek line of camo. I ended up with the Koldo Jacket and Pants plus some accessories. They seem to be very well built with lots of pockets, reinforced areas that get worn out, lightweight, quiet material, and both are 20,000mm waterproof which is plenty to hunt in (in my opinion). The Highlander  pattern itself is pretty unique but actually blends pretty well into a broad spectrum of terrain. Comparatively it's about $50 cheaper than Sitka and you're buying from a disabled war Vet owned company. All reviews and articles I've read say its the real deal and quality apparel. It was originally designed for military purposes and then it caught on with vendors such as Cabelas who were quick to put it on the shelves. If anybody has tried it I would be interested in hearing your opinions. Cheers.

I've only got two items from them but really like both so far. I have the pants with all the pockets and the Alois shirt. Both will be getting used until they wear out.

I got the Alois shirt and pants, and hunted in them for nearly the entire early archery elk season.  I'll tell you, simply, I love them, especially the pants.  Admittingly I made fun of the knee pads in the pants before I bought them, but they have changed my mind - awesome feature to have.  There are alot of well thought out pockets, some of which I have no use for, but it's nice to have.  The shirt was good too, and dried quicker than my new UA base layer did.  I am definately interested in buying more of their stuff.  I bought the mountain mimicry pattern which works fine.  The highlander pattern worn by my father in law blended in surprisingly well, and I wouldn't hesiate to buy it.  I don't thin you could go wrong with the Kryptek line.

I plan on buying the lightweight stuff before next fall or archery. We'll see how the rain gear does this weekend and up to the end of bear season.
