DIY european elk

This was my first elk shot this archery season, and my first attempt at any taxidermy. The piece of drift wood is off the beach about 200 yards from where he died. I boiled the skull in water and dawn soap to get it clean, then boiled it again in hydrogen peroxide, water, and a little bleach. I sanded the wood down and put super glaze on it.

Looks nice a white. 

Don't use Bleach.  All you need is peroxide.

What was the peroxide to water mix that you boiled it in?

I used about 1.5 gallons of peroxide in a 5 or 6 gallon pot. Michelle , after I did it someone told me that bleach can make them pitted so next time I won't use it though it didn't seem to hurt it. I used about 1/2 cup in the 5 or 6 gallons. I wish I had better pictures of the drift wood so someone might be able to tell what kind it is. I sanded  it down but left alot of water stain. You can see the grain really well in parts so maybe I will try to post close up pics.
