Congrats to you and you buddy Selkirk! Any pics? I'm headed up there this weekend.

mdbuck5x5,  I took some old school photos (35mm) and it will be a week before I can post.  Good luck this weekend.  Selkirk

Reading these posts it sounds like it's kicked in this past week.  I'm chomping at the bit here at work and will be in the woods tomorrow - Monday.  Can't wait  :IBCOOL:

Rut seemed to kick into full swing on Monday. We started hunting Sat. saw our first buck Monday night, 3x4(killed it). Got 2 more on Tuesday(4x4 & 5x), saw 4 other shooters that day. We hunted 117. Good Luck to all!

The deer have been ripping the hell out of stuff in our property in 124.  Massive, violent scrapes since last weekend, destroyed trees,  and does peeing all over.  There also seems to be alot of evidence of fighting or does being dogged, hard to tell in the melted snow.  I was able to rattle in two bucks on wed.  resulting in a kill for a buddy.  The big guys arent giving themselves up to be shot, but I have been seeing some tremendous animals in the middle of the day.  Its on!!

Just got back last night from 113.  Didn't seem like the rut had started there yet.  Saw a lot of does, but no bucks showing interest.  When I hunted the blackpowder season there, after Thanksgiving, the rut was going strong then.  I thought this time I could rattle some in just out of curiosity, but no takers....  :dunno:

Hunted 4 days and came home because I was sick of the Patchy Fog.  And the weather was forecast to get worse for the next 4 days.   :bash:

I just returned from unit 113.  I shot a small 4x4 but my buddy got a 200lb 4x4 with a big neck.  We found a few scrapes and fresh rubs.  I was up for four days and deer activity seemed to increase in the last two days.
Nice bud, congrats! I can't wait to see a picture

Whitetailslyr,  I was going to email you pics at work but the spam filter blocked me.  I'll post next week when I have photos of both bucks.  Selkirk

Mature bucks moving all hours of the day during the past week....usually following a doe... the rut is on!
