KUIU GEAR opinions?
« on: November 04, 2012, 02:08:50 PM »
I am looking for a set of good raingear for archery.   Anyone with experience with KUIU gear?    I have tried Rivers West (doesnt breath), have Under Armour Shell now.   The Goretex products are noisy in my experience.

Does it need to be camo?  I have been looking at raingear, and the Marmot Precip gear gets very good reviews and costs a lot less than Kuiu or Sitka options.

I have the Chugach pants and have been very happy with them. Best breathing rain gear I have ever used.

Does any store carry KUIU or do you have to order direct?

It's first rate stuff.  Especially now that they have the Verde camo.  Not going to be as quiet as you're used to with Rivers West.  I think a little louder than any of my Under Armour shells but breaths better.  Not as roomy as Rivers West for guys who drink just a bit too much beer and eat too many burgers.  But as far as camo shells go it's top of the heap good.

Heard mostly positive reviews on Kryptek Koldo.  Just ordered the top from Cabelas for $120.  I'm waiting for it to arrive.  Most said it's quieter than Kuiu.

Good to know, I want a good set for backpacking as well as hunting.

Is it better in terms of breathability, waterproofness?

I haven't tried the KUIU yet. Right now I use the Sitka Downpour. It will keep you dry without doubt, I have worn mine during W Wa worst.
The noise doesn't bother me, if I'm wearing it, its raining.

I'll look at the KUIU, but I won't ordrer it without seeing it 1st.

What was wrong with the size?  Did it fit too small?
