Elk hunting is awesome!!
« on: November 06, 2012, 10:38:12 AM »
I love it!! It gets me in the mountains, brings friends together, lets me be me, does all the things it is suppose to do.  I did not harvest an animal this year or ever. But each year I learn something new and my encounters become closer and closer to a legal animal. I wanted to thank my wife and two boys for allowing me to be me and give me no chit!! They only ask if I'm alive and well, and of course where's my elk. Can't wait to get the boys old enough to be where the wife won't go. :chuckle:
Hope you guys all had a good season. Good luck to those still in pursuit!!
fear no fish!!

That's how I feel as well.  Our camp went 0 fer this year while the last 2 years were great... 5 elk taken each year. Though it was dissappointing to get skunked and worse yet to not see an elk during the whole week, it was an awesome week with a great group of friends having a fantastic time in the mountains.

   Keep up the great attitude.

I agree.  The day after I got home from my elk hunt I was making a list of things that I needed to fix, upgrade or resolve for next year.  Then, I started training  (again).  I'm excited for the late archery whitetail hunt, but nothing compares to the anticipation of next year's archery elk hunt.

Yep, me too.  I already have a deposit on a wilderness pack in trip in NE Oregon for 2013.  Plan to hunt early archery here in WA and then go over there and get'er done.  Oregon's season is longer than ours and I'm going the last 10 days over there.  Bulls should be talking!

I'm getting ready for my late Archery tag in the Entiat.  I'm excited, but not in comparison to elk season!
