Spike elk question
« on: November 06, 2012, 03:31:27 PM »
New to elk hunting and had a question about a spike elk on private property we were hunting. The bull had long spikes and on one side he had a 5 inch drop tine at the base then two 4-5 inch eye guards on same side. Would this be a legal bull in a 3 pt area? We tryed to get a pic but super foggy.

To be legal it must have at least three antler points on one side, with at least two of the points above the ears.  Antlers must be at least one inch. Eye guards are considered points if they are at least one inch.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

i asked a similar question to a couple of game wardens.. Was told that a spike with double eyeguards is legal.. They said the game laws are real vague, because as it states two points above the ears. Well is that ears down or up. They said I wouldnt be ticketed if they were to see me with a spike with doubles. As we seen one the day before season.
