Found a elk shed tonight
« on: November 07, 2012, 06:46:56 PM »
I was deep down in the the woods and was following a heavily used elk trail where i saw a nice 4 point with kickers during the end of early deer season so i was hoping to run into that heard. As i got ready to step over a creak a small bit a something that looked similar to horns was sticking out so i grabbed it and what do you know a shed. Im guessing that the shed is from the same elk i saw before just the year before because it grew kickers this year? Its my first elk shed so pretty proud. (Im Only 16) there is a picture of the shed and the elk i saw.

Always great to get the first one.  If you're anything like me, you'll find more when you're not looking for them.  I found one 3 feet off the road near Packwood a couple of weeks ago.

Nice!
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

I'll say that is a well used elk trail....dang.  Nice shed...
If you love something you will set it free, if it don't come home, hunt it down and kill it.

:chuckle: :chuckle: HAHA that picture of the elk is not the trail i was on its where i saw the elk during early deer which was on a old logging road. But the trail was heavily used also.
