I actually do understand how some people might not feel they need to allow the turkeys to destroy their yard, garden, etc.

Especially since turkeys are not a native species. They were only brought here so people would have something else to hunt.

I know lots of people that keep a pellet gun next to their back door to chase of nuisance critters.  Pretty common and I don't think they are trying to kill most critters, just run them off.

Airsoft guns or paintball guns......or just chasing them........still probably all illegal  :chuckle: :dunno:

OP, you might suggest to your neighbor, or get her a Christmas present, that she use one of those motion detector sprinklers and set it up where the turkeys come by.  Won't do much good in the winter, but it might help.

Have the neighbor contact the NWTF, they have means to deal with "excess" birds (please do not use the word nuisance birds) such as setting up feeders away from homes with gardens, flowers, etc.  You can get the regional directors number from the NWTF website and the In Your State section.

No need to be popping the birds ... agree that harassing any animal/bird is not the right way to go ....

I shot a Canadian goose earlier this year and as i was breasting it out i found a lead pellet stuck to the rib cage.  :dunno:
