I have been seeing them out of sand canyon but most have been over on the huckleberry.  Cannot disclose where or my wife will kick my arse as they are "her" birds. :chuckle:

Other than the ones right on my property, I have taken most by driving the more overgrown roads and jumping them.  Watch where they land and focus around there.  If the road is abandoned and not a county maintained road, it is legal to shoot them there, but not truly ethical unless you are assured of your background.
Some of the bigger ones I got last year were out in the grass off of the sides of the road up Sand Canyon.  Shot two right in the first big campground area out in the middle of all that grass.

lol.

Thats it. lol

I have 31 more days of my season...

You got 8 for the whole year.  I'm not worried.

Back to grouse.

The people that use dogs, do you guys just walk the forest roads with the dogs and let them find the birds?  Or do you try to walk the water sources and such?

I try to find food sources and areas open enough to shoot. Creek beds are good too.
