Hunted hard for the past 3 days in 460 trying to fill my quality permit i drew this year. Saw 7 deer Saturday but only one buck on the run. Returned Sunday with the aid of my bud (wingsandwilds) and were chasing them all day long. Around 2:00 we got on some fresh buck tracks just as the rain began to really come down. We came to a clearing we know has held plenty of deer in the past figuring the buck may be feeding in there. I moved through the timber line glassing the cut, not seeing anything. Just as I was about to head back out towards the road I got a hunch I needed to move in about 10 more yards closer to the cut. I moved in and when I threw up my binos for one last look I saw this big forkie staring right at me in the reprod at about 110 yards or so. Did not have a good rest and was shivering soaked from the rain while trying to scramble to get a shot before he jumped ship. Leaned against a tree, let out a breath and let one rip.... NO MOVEMENT!!! I Missed.

Chambered another round and fired again...No movement again. At this point Im dumbfounded, I chamber my final round and let her rip. Buck Jumps about 4 ft in the air twirling his head and lands on his side and expires instantly. So as we recover and dress the deer we realize I hit him twice. Locate the heart, 2 entry and exit wounds, sucker took 2 out of the 3 shots to the pump room before dropping. One tough Buck

Im pretty happy to fill my quality tag with this forkie, he has a nice little crab claw nice eyegards, and is tall. Prob gonna get a euro mount done on him. Want to give a special thanks to wingsandwilds for all the help getting on this guy yesterday and getting him out of the woods, could not have done it without you bud!
