Rabbits?

Good Morning Folks.

Does anyone know a good place in kitsap, mason, pierce, or jefferson to go blast some bunnies? I got my daughter all licenced up but all she can handle right now is her little pink davey cricket otherwise I would take her after some birds. I figure if I could get her on som rabbits it should be fun, but I don't know anywhere on this side of the mountains.

Logging roads in the Natl Forests, dawn and dusk. Both bunnies and grouse. A gazeteer will be excellent money spent. Gas prices make it expensive meat, as there will be lots of miles per bunny, but it's lots of fun. Great for kids!

yea since openign day i went to olympic nat. forest and saw nothign up there but before that is was ausoem.  got to love that animals know when season starts.   but get there in the morning since at around 9 all the people start showing up

also seen a little amount of rabits in the seabeck/dwato area. not a huge amount and driving at night none during the day.  well scout out there a little today whe i go yote/bear hunting.  but nat. forest is your best bet.

Yeah, I know there are brush bunnies arround here but they are had to get a shot at becaue they are always under really thick brush.

We had a good outing for grouse last weekend in the national forest, but not a sign of rabbits.

Is the state land around Hurd road opened back up? after last season DNR put up a lot of no shooting signs. that was a good place for rabbits.

perhaps next weekend we will go to the Tahuya forest really early and see what we can see.

I heard tell last season that Pierce had a good rabbit population, but I never got over there to see.

Almost any old logging road in Jefferson county will do nicely at dusk or dawn.

wynochee area has tons of hares, dont know my countys so not sure how far that is from you. but you will see lots of them and grouse on the rds up there

I went up copper creek in pierce county last week bear huntin and saw probably 15 hares that were huge! All rite off the road too.

If you guys haven't checked out google earth you are sorely missing out. Basically a giant picture of everywhere on earth, you can find forest roads everywhere and see where they go before wasting a bunch of gas.
