Looking for help
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:19:16 PM »
We are hunting the Winston unit trying to fill elk tags for 3 guys in our group. We have been going hard at it since Friday with no success. We are not seeing the animals like we usually do. Anyone have any recommendations? I don't want any honey holes just a general area where we might see something. We don't have any problems busting the brush. Thanks Robby

There were at least 35 nice size elk taken out of there during Modern thats why your not seeing anything.

Try the 1000 & 2000 roads off Salmon Creek.

I've only heard of 2 and 1 was posted on here. Think I'll look elsewhere next weekend, maybe BG. Snow would be nice. Good luck.

Steep and deep. Find the  benches on the timbered hillsides. They are there or in the reprod; no help for the reprod as it's almost impossible to hunt without a posse.

I know of one group of 7 hunters, filled all their tags in the Winston..   4 5x5's & 3 4x4's...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
