If you'd gone to Les Schwab they would have told you that you needed a new tire, AND your brakes and shocks were toast.

Ain't that the truth.

That's why I give my business to Commercial Tire. I have had very good luck with them so far. Schwab made a lot of money selling and instailing parts to/for people that just did not know any better. Scare tactics were a key selling point.

I had a similar problem with the one here in the Spokane Valley. Took my wife's van in for an oil change(on a sunday). Got a call from them an hour later saying I would need to have the van towed away.  :yike: I asked what happened and they claimed that the drain plug hole in the oil pan was stripped and that the whole pan needed replaced. And that due to the fact that they couldn't put a plug in there was no oil in it. Sh*t! Called a tow truck and had it towed to an acquaintance's shop. He called me within an hour on monday (closed sunday) and said there was nothing wrong. The *censored*es at Wal-Mart tried to put the wrong damn plug back in the van. I then called the Wal-Mart manager and laid into her about her idiots. She apologized and refunded me the cost of the towing bill, but then asked that we not bring the van to their service department again. NO PROBLEM!!!  :bash:

L.S. lost my business many years ago!  My wife went in for tires and ended up with a brake job on all fours and tie rod ends.  When she called to tell me I told her to save the parts.  I took them to our mechanic (friend of ours) and he said they just screwed you big time!
I live in Spokane and have used Discount Tire for many years now...I have been very happy with the service and the product!

:yeah:  X's 10000  LS Employee and Manager - "Excuse me, sir?  You're riding metal-on-metal and we can't let you leave the store for liability reasons until there's new brakes installed?"  Me- "I'll get a second quote and I'd like to see you stop me."  LS Employee and Manager - "If we have to we'll contact the authorities because that's a serious safety matter."  Me - (Pulled out badge and ID) "Well my badge tells me I'm leaving your store and if you don't give me my keys ASAP I'll charge you for unlawful detainment."

Left Yakima LS and went to Toppenish Howards OK Tire and found out I had about 30% life and rock stuck in the pad, bought new brakes anyways and never went back to LS.

I am going to get a badge so I can do this, these stores always try to muscle people. I used to work for a dealership on the westside and would always get people to say Im going to go to Discount Tire and get a second qoute, they would almost always be back to yell at me and say You never told me I needed Ball joints on both sides and tie rods, and I would say because you don't, thats the safe way to make sure A. they make more money off you, and B. so you wont come back in for warranty work.
Is it waterfowl season yet..............
