Superstitions
« on: September 05, 2008, 09:03:03 PM »
How many of you are have superstitions.  I am, and just found my lucky elk hunting hat that I wore when I harvested my last three elk.  Funny enough I was worried about not finding it.  I looked everywhere, garage, laundry, couches, kids play room, unpacked all my hunting gear.  Finally found it under the bed.  Dern kids.  Made me think who else has something they have to have when hunting.

I got a big ol blue pack and it seems like every time I take it along and I am prepared to pack something out, I never have any luck so I am leaving it at home for my elk trip and sure enough I will probebly be wishing I had some sort of pack but if this is true I may have to burn that cursed dam pak. Every time my buddy sees me puting that pack in the rig he rols his eyes.LOL

I have my lucky hat and fingerless gloves (basically rags now but still wear them)!  Video cameras are a curse for me.  As well as a camera in general, it stays at the truck or in camp while hunting.  There has been many of time I hiked back a long way ti get it.

The constellation Orion is a good luck charm to me.

when hunting with others they always seem to get the game due in part to my actions, only time I get the game is if I go alone. Have my "lucky sweats" that are falling apart now but I still wear 'em every time I go scouting with those on I see alot of game, my wife says they're getting so old and threadbare that if I catch 'em just right on a branch or something they'll just explode and I'll be pantless!

Kind of off subject, but I have a bad case of the last day score. I hunt and sweat when I'm able to, get nothing but see lots, then on the last day, I usually kill. It's not an annual phenomenon, but it happens often. I guess it's not so bad, as I get to hunt more and see more. And I kinda look forward to the last day.

I have a lucky pair of underwear, I only wear them on my hunting trips and a I never wash them.......better part of 15 years now!...

LOL, Just kidding, checking to see if you guys are a wake, lol.

I use to have a lucky Aussie hat. Every year I wore it, I saw big bucks and bulls.....then I realized that yes I was seeing them, I was not killing them. So I got pissed and through it away, lol.

My luck is always either the first day or the last day of the season.  Everything else is just being out for a walk............

I always have to get some lucky butt from the ole lady before every hunt!

I don't really but I've got her believing it!
