Congrats on the elk with a bow!  Any elk with a bow is a feat in itself!

Good job. Don't you love the 4 wheelers and closed roads. I leave tommorrow after work for the rest of the elk season.

Well... ill be the first one to post. Me and my buddy Tj woke up moday morning high up in the hills behind Ellensburg(GMU 328) and started getting ready for the hunt when a quad drives past (down a closed road) and heads straight through where we were going to hunt. We decided to head down the opposite ridge and sure enough around 8:30 about 3 miles from camp we are waking down  an old water barred road doing some soft cow calls when i spot a spike in his bed. I let off 3 soft cow calls and it gets out of his bed and starts walking straight tward us. He walks down the logging road exactly 50 yrds away and stopps in a clearing and started licking at his hind quarters when we get a chance to draw. Once we draw it looks at us but it was to late for him because i flung an arrow and double lunged him. He didnt even know what hit him because he walked not even 30 yrds and dumps over. Couldnt believe it. First elk ever shot at and dropped not even 80 yrds away. Supprisingly i didnt even get the shakes while it was walking tward us but once it was down, i tell you what the ADRENALIN WAS FLOWING. After about an 8 hr pack out we had meat hanging.

Kyle you sombitch!!!! How the hell are you man I had no idea you were on this site bro...  This is Mike Johnson from Math spring quarter btw!  Damn dude it's a small world!  I transfered here to the University of Idaho and its freakin sweet down here man.  Decided to grow your hair out a bit huh? lol Nice work on the elk man!
