"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles..

If every teacher in the school would of had a shoulder holster with a gun there would have been no kids killed.  Very simple

I love this quote. It is not the inanimate object that is evil. It is the person that holds it. The whole debate is moot in my mind.

I saw an interview with an ex FBI agent who was asked, "can this be stopped in the future?" his response was a simple no. Why? Because people make bad decisions. Even if a gun is not involved. Or they forget to lock up their firearms. Or hide the car keys.

I for one do not buy weapons. I buy firearms. I do not own an assault weapon. I own a semiautomatic firearm. Look it up.

If our rights are taken away, all I can say is welcome to South Canada........sad....

You know, the columbine incident took place during the assault  weapons ban, and they actually had a assault weapon with them.  A tec 9.  Something specifically banned in the law.  Apparently they didn't read it otherwise I'm sure they wouldn't have brought it along.

Ya I kind of thought that was when it happened. I beleive several did in fact happen during that period.

Not an assualt weapon..............does not meet the real definition.

This is part of the problem. The general public and the media do not know the real definition. You are not helping by spreading the untruth.

your missing the forest for the trees

They are defined as such in the 1994 AWB - which would serve as a blueprint for a future AWB bill.

What makes them "assault" weapons?   Cosmetic features, not functions.

and by accepting their definitions and caving into what THEY want the public to believe is an assault weapon, we are bowing at their feet, saying yes master, whatever you wish master.....  :bash: :bash: :bash:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

The point is that something was used in a violent crime that was illegal under that law.  So if that ban didn't stop crazies from getting their hands on illegal firearms and using them for the purpose of harming others, what will a new ban do?
Not if the title of assault weapon was appropriate.

If someone beats someone else to death with a baseball bat is the bat now considered a assault weapon?

Its going to be interesting to see the list of proposed weapons banned, I'm wondering if a couple of my handguns are going to be on the list.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Cant help but notice that most of these mass shootings occur in govt buildings, and buildings, areas that have been designated "weapon free zones". Never seen a public vote for a WFZ.

The point of a ban is that it is beginning. They found a gun people fear on appearance. The real ban will be to move to ban all guns that function in semi. auto.

The Kennedy nephew killed the neighbor girl with a Golf Club.  Never heard a call to ban those.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

text form an email i got. Know its fear mongering but.............
Obama will be actively supporting a new "Assault Weapons" Ban and ending ALL private firearms sales by requiring a “background check” government permission slip.

And sadly, the national media is more than willing to help him get his wish . . .

MSNBC anchors are calling for outright gun "confiscation!"
