The only barrel I shot out was a 22-250, I shot it hot, often. It still lasted 15years before the groups realy opened up bad, and the throat was washed out to the point a bullet wouldnt touch the case mouth and the lands at the same time. The throat area of the chamber looked like a dried up mud puddel, cracks and craters, and no rifleing for the first 1 1/2" after the throat. I've got a 7mm Rem Mag thats going to be needing a new barrel in the next couple of years. the new barrel will have a long eough shank to cut and set it back at least once.
