Not everyone is price gouging.
« on: January 07, 2013, 02:34:58 PM »
Got a call from a friend today that works at Sportsmen Warehouse. They got some AR's and PMags in today's shipment, so I went down there and grabbed the last three 30 round Pmags for $17.99 each :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

They are limiting them to 3 per person to keep from one person buy them out and not giving anyone else a chance at them.

Fortunately for me I got the last three but unfortunately for everyone else, they along with the AR's are gone in less then 4 hours  :bash: :bash:

Its good to see that not all retailers have jumped in the over pricing band wagon

Are they stupid? Why sell something for less than it's worth?

Maybe because they don't feel like hosing people just because they can....

product is worth WHATEVER people are willing to pay... If you owned an AR and didn't stock up then around Christmas when everyone was having a sale then its not anyone's fault but yours... I remember seeing an and for sportmans warehouse for 9.99 for Pmags.   Every AR owner should have realized that the left hates guns, and they REALLY hate AR's those guns are only good if you have several clips to go with them.  :twocents:

You see this problem in lots of cases where demand outstrips supply. Hurricanes, natural disaster.... ALL THINGS ARE CHEAPER  when you shop around and buy BEFORE you need them. :twocents:

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

When the price of gold started going through the roof, was that considered price gouging? Just curious...

All this talk of price gouging almost makes me laugh, but it's really not very funny.

Glad you were able to get your hands on a few.

So if milk say jumped in price due to some government created milk shortage due to talk of banning all dairy cows, that would also just be a consequence of capitalism?  the issue is there is no reason for the price increase other than sheer and utter panic created by media, the government and a whole bunch of people willing to believe the sky is actually falling....

its good for gun shops for a while.....

There are some mighty big talkers on here but lets wait and see when a real disaster happens and they need something. A $40 PMag that should cost $12 is no different than a $12 sheet of plywood selling for $40 2 days before a hurricane hits! That being said I back ordered 6 Pmag's from midway (only 2 per style per person) 2 weeks ago for $12.30 they came in yesterday and shipped today.

Did yours come in yesterday also? I don't really need them well the AR-10 308 I do. I have no problem with a private person selling for whatever they want but any company like Midway, Brownells no way they would never get my money again. I understand some rise in prices from a company IF they are hiring more people to keep there machines and assembly process 24/7 trying to get as much merchandise moved out just in case a ban is put into effect.

Reapeat customers. Thats why. Mag prices will come down. When they do those customers will go back to SW as opposed to the business who was selling them for inflated prices in turn making more money in the long run.  There are still some places selling mags at reasonable prices.
