Run on guns and ammo
« Reply #30 on: January 13, 2013, 05:10:38 PM »
Gee I was in 3 different hardware stores today and plenty of ammo and guns in all three
Stacks of 223, 22LR, and just about anything you can mention
223 going for $8.00 per 20 round box must of been 30+ boxes Remington 55 grain FMJ at one place
Hornady v max at another

Where are you located? I've been looking everywhere and haven't seen a single box of 223 or 5.56, it was selling for .80 to a buck a round at the gun show yesterday. I may have to drive your way

Just in Sportsmans Warehouse (Puyallup) yesterday and they had not a single box of .22LR ammo. Strangest thing I ever saw. Plenty of .22 shorts or .22 magnums but no .22 LR. Bought a few boxes of  .45 Auto and called it good. Back to the loading bench.
This is getting crazy... :bash: :bash: :bash:

What about reloading supplies? Was there much there?

Looked like they were well stocked with reloading supplies about as usual. I bought several boxes of Hornady .357 bullets and they had several other weights and configurations to choose from. Forgot to check the primers and I didn't ask about powder since I am pretty well stocked. Primers have never been in large supply at SW. I did see a sign that they were limiting some items to several per customer, depending on what item.

What worries me is that once people see empty shelves where the ammo used to be, everyone's going to be on the reloading bandwagon.
