Run on guns and ammo
« on: January 11, 2013, 10:08:14 AM »
This is no joke, I have just learned this all in the last 24 hours.

I had a phone call from Mississippi last night, there are no .22, .223, 9mm, or 00 buck ammo available in the entire state, guy said his friend in Florida and another friend in Wisconsin cannot get it either. Talked to another guy in Utah, .22 ammo is sold out in most locations, .223 and pistol ammo tough to find, one Walmart has sold completely out of all guns and all ammo, nothing on the shelf. Guy from Texas called this morning, said same thing is happening there now. Guns and ammo is disappearing fast off shelves in Washington too.

If you want to get any guns or ammo, buy them soon.  :twocents:

"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

I was over in Idaho at the black sheep in Cdl and the clerk there told me that Obama has done more for gun and ammo sales than any other president. :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
I've slowed down enough in my old age to finally let the game catch up to me

I had mentioned in another thread about my bro in law. He lives in Illinois and has picked up his first pistol...a Glock 21 Gen 3 in .45. There is NO defense ammo on the shelves. He has a Gander Mt and Bass Pro within driving distance.....nothing. I picked up two boxes for him and will send them to him via my folks coming out for a visit. Crazy.

I am hoping that people stocking up, and that if this all blows over, that they keep high inventory in their closet. Nothing a tyrranical dictator fears more than an armed populace.

For the past four or five years, every time I go to a store that sells ammo, I always pick up a couple of boxes of what ever I shoot, that's on sale.  My wife wonders why I've got so many empty ammo cans.  They're not empty anymore.  I also learned to reload and have a minimun of two thousand of everything needed to reload what I shoot.  Even if this blows over, I'm sure prices aren't going to drop to what they were before it started.  You ever hear anyone say they just bought an AR or AK at pre-94 prices?

I stopped in our local walmart earlier today.   They had full gun display cases.  Some ammo.  Not much pistol ammo.  They had gotten in some powder in the last couple of days.  And they had gotten in a bunch of small rifle primers.

I've been doing this with my hunting ammo for the past few years.

For the end of the world stuff, I usually purchase by the case.

At the Sportsman's Warehouse in Puyallup if has anything to do with a high capacity magazine it is gone.  We have a little bit of ammo still trickling in, but once the distribution center is empty... :dunno:  Same with the pistols in 9mm and 40 S&W.

I went to Wal Mart yesterday and they had just placed a case of bulk .45 on the shelf.  They were $32. a 100 pack for Federal.  I picked up 300 rounds.  The gal said that Wal Mart is not letting them place anymore orders for ammo or guns as of 1/10/13.  I wonder if this is all Wal Marts and I wonder if they will follow suit as many other big box retailers.  Pulling the ammo and guns????  Not sure.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
