You may be a stronger man than me, Bruce. I don't know if I could have passed up such a delicious by catch.

It got me thinking and I dug around in the freezer that night. Next day I made grouse noodle soup, better then Campbells soup.

Another big beaver in one of DeKalbs' double guillotine power door traps. I had this trap set to catch a beaver going downstream under a log. Pretty impressive that the doors would close fast enough.

The power doors are the only way to go. I've only caught four beaver so far all in kirk's Large Double Door. Great design these are two that I caught back to back. Been slow hard to find places to set close to home. Have to scout further out next year.

Wow, you are having a great season.  Do you make your own colony traps?

What a great day today! Slept in until eight. Made the family my usual Sunday French toast breakfast. Went to church. Went to the boys baseball practice. Checked traps on the way home and had 2 mink and 2 beavs with only 5 traps out. Praise the Lord! Now for a good supper......
