I missed the vote but I cook about 1% of the time at home, but for some reason at elk camp I love to cook. I mostly love to cook breakfast after I already have an elk hanging.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

occasionally. I bring in 100% of the income so I'm not going to do 50% of the housework. However, a stay at home mom's job never ends so I make it my business to give her a few nights off every week, be it by cooking, taking us out, or doing the dishes  :)

Doing half the cooking is certainly nowhere close to doing half the "housework"....  I'm self-employed and don't put in nearly as many hours as my wife at her job, yet she still does most of the laundry (I try to help), so I am more than happy to help with dishes and cooking, of course we both actually enjoy cooking.

If your wife is a slave or hired hand, I can understand not helping since you "make all the money", but I just don't get that attitude.   :dunno:

Wow--getting "called out."  :o

Never said that or implied that. The discussion is about cooking, not a litany of the many duties requisite to maintain a household. Though I did allude to it by mentioning dishwashing.

It is my belief that if one spouse doesn't work outside the home, that they should perform most of the household duties. Certainly not all, especially if there are children in the picture. That would be a job that never ends. Early in our marriage, we both had full time jobs and split the housework along agreed upon lines. Even though I always worked more and brought in more income. Make sense?

Sorry, to ruffle feathers, I should have put a  ;) or something at the end, but I do believe it says housework not dishwashing.  I understand if one person is working out of the house more, it is just logical that the one home does more.
