Greg--get a core long sleeve for under your traverse and you'll be good to go.

Put the stinky clothes in the washing machine.  Add two tablespoons of liquid dawn dish soap, use the soak cycle.  Then wash like regular with your regular detergent or scent free.  Do this every two or three washes and they won't stink.  Learned this from using cloth diapers on my kids.

I wear UA almost everyday and used to run into this but found out a couple things that made it much better/almost none. 1. wash in powdered detergent with no fabric softener. 2. dry with no other clothes and no dryer sheets or anything else. UA has to breathe to work correctly and if you use fabric softener of anytype it will not work correctly and liquid detergent has something in it so it clogs the pores also. Don't ask me what but I talked to two different UA reps and both said this is the most common mistake with their clothes. HTH

No issues with my UA, but since I've started trying merino wool I'm making the switch. Merino wool just seems to wick the moisture much better than UA.

I've had this problem with UA a bunch, and refuse to wear it when I will be moving much.  For fishing situations, it's alright.  Synthetics always smell worse that wools. :twocents:

Certain synthetics used in base layers absorb oil and associated odors and you can't really wash it out (even though it may smell fresh out of the wash, just add moisture and heat and it will smell ripe). One material in particular, polypropylene, is used in cleaning up ocean oil spills because of its absorbing properties.

I have a UA pull over in Max4 that's got a "Scent Control" logo on it and the thing wreaks after one wear.  I wear a lot of synthetics and I don't get bad BO when I sweat... but for some reason the UA just smells funky while none of my other synthetics do.

mine also has the scent control logo. I wash it smells fine then after one day even if I dont sweat at all in it it smells. I will never buy another one.

Put it in the washer with 1 cup of dawn dishwashing soap. :chuckle:

I had the same issue with my Synthetic (Nike Dryfit, Columbia, and Adidas) stinking after wash. We narrowed it down to the detergent pods. Those little self contained detergent packets. Once I went back to liquid detergent, all the smell went away.

Yep find a good moisture wicking under base as you're base layer and avoid any Cotton. :twocents:
