Has anyone heard how the hunting is Wilkeson is.  I'll be heading up there for the modern season starting on oct. 11.  I live in Buckley so it's nice to hunt close to home.

I live in Buckley as well. If you don't have a Hancock permit be prepared to work your butt off. The area gets a huge amount of hunters during the general season, esp since the gas prices went up. Get off the beaten path and walk in to get away from the road hunters and you'll see more, find some more recent clearcuts and do some glassing.

That's basically what I have decided on doing.  There are a few clear cuts that I hunted in previous years with some success and went up a couple weeks ago and saw some promising sign and the general look of the clearings was nice.  The problem is they were a ways back and I'm going to have to leave REAL early to get to them.  But hey that's hunting right.
