Canon xs is a good one to.
They can take nice images no doubt. FWIW, I would stick to the xxD bodies if you are going to be outdoors a lot, they are built better to handle the elements. The one issue I have with the XS versions is they are physically smaller than the xxD and full frames, when you use a L series lens they do now balance very well.
