What is it???
« on: February 04, 2013, 02:49:08 PM »
Tracks are from Vancouver Island. I have no idea what they are. Do any of you? Pretty sure its not a coon because the whole back foot pad should be visible.

Battery is two inches long.

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Looks like a stream bank. I would guess otter or beaver.

i guess racoon.  the toes are very long and no real sign of webbing.  the webbing on otter can be subtle but the ones i have seen don't reallly have long skinny toes.  coons like the wet areas to hunting for fish crayfish amphibians.  sometime the pattern of track can be helpful as some animals like aquatic mamals walk a little awkward on dry land

when I lived in Winlock, WA i had a small creek on my 5 acres we had a family of coons and the buck was enormous.  every once in a while he would stand on his hind legs peering through our sliding glass doors at our cats.  my one cat would growl.  I don't think he was looking for mates I think he was looking for an easy meal.  everyone every heard a coon killing cats?

You better believe a coon will kill a cat... Lost my cat that way once... Still have the hide from the coon that killed him too.  Think that's the only time in my life I ever killed something out of anger.  Was the best cat I have ever owned.  Still hold a grudge against coons too.

The racoons living in my dads tree EAT SQUIRRELS, you will hear the loudest shrieking, and find the bodies on the ground with their skulls chewed open. Pretty gnarly...

YES I am sure they are racoons as I see them up in the tree... A family of them.

Those are footprints by the way. You can tell because the imprints in the mud do not have feet and legs sticking out.
