how about 17 hmr
I just went hunting with another member here on the forum. He said his 308 with soft points and cross body shots was very fur friendly. Something like 308 hole on entrance side, and only a slightly larger (I think he said like a .338) size hole on the exit. Not enough time to expand, but can grab both lungs and drop them. If you message me I'll give you his handle and you can pm him him and ask about it.I also have a friend who shoots them with a .22 or .17hmr head shots only and within 100yards. I am totally new at this, but have found that people can get heated on the question of using a .17hmr. Some say it is unethical and should be illegal and damn whoever tries and it wont kill a coyote. Others say its great, they kill them at 150 yards with it every day of their life, and anybody who uses bigger is wasting fur. Do whatever is comfortable for you I think. Just my
While we're on the subject, that new Winchester Super Magnum Rimfire sure looks good, especially in States that only allow rimfires for Coyotes. I think I'd still rather have a .17 Hornet.
