1 shed and 1 new find
« on: February 10, 2013, 06:35:18 PM »
1st shed hike of the year. Have never found one of these before. It was already sprung and not attached to a stake, bush or tree, just laying there. Probably been there for years, cool find since only a dinker 2point for the day.

Wow that thing might be worth some money, Not sure how common they are these days.
Might be one of the legal traps though being as It has no teeth.
But Im no trapper, what do I know. Looks extremely aged.

There are no legal legholds for the average Joe in WA.   :bash:

Cool finds!!!

I found one several years back that had been triggered as well,it had an old bone stuck in it still  :yike: Pretty neat.

I'm glad one of our labs didnt find it still set.

For sure!!  Its not pretty  :bash: The neighbors dog found one a couple years ago, got caught. It was a fresh set tho, not sure if illegal or not... ( im assuming they are legal for problem removal  :dunno: ) The kids were freaked out, they had been back there playing when it happened. Thankfully, once the kiddos settled down, the dog calmed down fairly quick, and I was able to release it without major damage... to either of us  :chuckle:

ya you can still buy that style of trap. so not much value in that trap. would look cool hangn up somewere tho. the only way you can use a foot hold trap in WA is get a permit from WDFW to do so. otherwise they are illegal. old school trappers used to stash there traps in stumps and logs that way they wouldnt have to pack them in and out every year. ive found a few out in the brush...

Good find. If I'm not mistaking the trap looks like a victor #3 leg hold. I think they used to be like 18 or 20 dollars brand new.cool to find
