Wolf Problem Solved
« on: February 15, 2013, 09:52:19 AM »
So I was thinking that we might just be stuck with these wolves.  We cant shoot them or trap them.  Well what the hell do we do.  I say we release something that will kill the wolves.  Like say hundreds of fixed Irish Wolfhounds.  It worked for Ireland.  These dogs completly wiped out the wolf population.  Ya they killed some elk to but these dogs only live what 8 years so they will die off after their job is done.  What do you think should we start breeding.

Might work--if they can be trained to guard cattle in the meantime!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

The wolves will continue to come into our state from Canada, Idaho, and even Oregon. I know you're not really serious about the dog idea, but if there really was a way to eliminate the wolves that are currently here, they would just be right back within a few years.

I saw Wolf tracks here in Wa 20 years ago.  I figured they were making a swing down from Canada.  It's the phony resident packs that need extermination.  I talked to an Irish Wolfhound breeder years ago.  She said 7 was real old for that breed.  :dunno:

certain over the counter medicines are poisonous to canines.  Poison is always a good route.
Also, the irish wolf hounds had help via humans who clubbed, arrowed, etc. the wolves.  Good idea, but not completely sound.

I figured someone called "Birddogman" would see the downside to spreading an OTC medicine that is poisonous to canines.
