...besides, the Curado color doesn't match the new rod  , and we all know how important that is to catching fish! 

Find the reel you want first, then build a rod to match..

For me, it's the Curado 201E7.  I think it's the best reel in the Curado series..  The "E" model is discontinued now in the "200" size, but you can still find them new or in good condition on ebay..

I looked at this post, what's the retrieve ratio? Does it only come in 6.9:1? Too fast for me.

  Yep... I'm gonna over-engineer this, as usual. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I've been brainwashed to think I need more "torque" out of the reel.  Personally, I think my arms will give me all the torque I need - but I'm considering all options. I have 20 reels and really could probably get by with one of my spinners. The $200 tag on your reel isn't attractive either...

How I view a faster cranking reel is that when you real in you get your junk back faster so you can cast it back out faster.  BUT if you mix an match and you are used to a specific ratio it will take you a little bit to get used to it if you are are using spoons.

I own two Diawa baitcasters and I like them both a lot.  I have an Advantage HSTA and a Tierra.  I really like both of them and would reccomend them both.  I have been looking at the Viento myself and an contemplating trying one out.  At the same time I have heard a lot of great things about the Shimano baitcasters (especially the Curado) and owning several Shimano spinning reels myself has got me leaning toward a new Curado.  I think if you are looking for a less expensive reel the Diawa offers a great bang for the buck, but if you want a really good reel and are willing to pay for it I would give the Curado a shot.  Just my  .

...I figured it out, and it's really not that difficult. I'm gonna need at least 3-4 rods in arms reach, so I do see a couple more in my future. I could see having a Senko, a spinner bait, and a jig n pig hooked up all times. Would you agree? Therefore, I do see the Curado in my near future.

My usual setups that I have rigged up and ready for largemouth are a weightless senko, a texas or carolia rig with a worm, lizzard, or other creature, a jig or drop shot, and a spinner bait and/or crankbait.  It always seems like you need one more rig no matter how many you have.  I usually have a mix of casting and spinning setups.  I prefer using spinning gear when I'm drop shotting or jiggings and with the weightless senkos sometimes and like the casting setups for more of the 'power' fishing techniques (cranks, spinners, jerkbaits, etc.).  I think the three you mentioned would all be good rigs to have ready.  You can cover a lot of different situations with those three setups.

I have a couple Viento's and find myself not using the twitching bar nearly as much as I'd figured.  As far as overall reels, I'd go with Curado SF's or Chronarch SF's or the Garcia Revo's.  Personally, the Revo's I have are my favorite, and I'm not really a Garcia guy.
