Another Cam Stolen

This stuff kind of stuff makes it hard to hunt the way we used to. I know we are talking cameras but i am affraid to leave my vehicle at the end of the road now for fear of it being ruined when I am in the woods. I used to park any place I wanted but you just cant any more.

My dad's truck was broken into along a major western washington hwy between 8-10 AM in the morning.  over $2K in valuable taken in BROAD DAYLIGHT with loggers driving by every minute or less.  Blows my mind!  I've said it before and I'll say it again - if I EVER catch anyone messing with my stuff, they will feel the pain.  I have ZERO tolerance for crime.  These punk meth-heads are playing with their lives screwing with hunter's vehicles.  Somebody's going to dump one of these scumbags in their tracks.

Just joined and thought I would share what happened Monday.  My wife and I are just getting into big game hunting (yes, I am a fortunate man as I am in love with a woman that is there with me regardless of the weather or the terrain.  She's worse off than me with buck fever).  Since we have a little vacation place on the east side we've always wanted to take the boat across the river and hunt GMU 330 (West Bar).

Since all we sighted the first few days were small groups of does we decided to set up the trail camera.  My wife spread out a bushell of old apples and we decided that we would come back the next day.  From that point we headed up to the northern end of the GMU and scouted about three hours with no luck.  We decided to go get some lunch and on the way back motored past the spot where we positioned the camera.  At first I thought I saw fish rising but quickly realized that it was actually some complete A-hole throwing the apples into the river.  I assumed he was hunting the area as he was decked out in blaze.  Between my wanting to double check the regs on "bait" for deer as well as not looking for a confrontation with an armed individual that from the water looked completely incensed I decided to just keep going with the plans to come back and pick up the camera that afternoon.

You can guess the rest.  About three hours later we ran over to find the camera and the tripod completely gone.  Now I can understand the ethical debate on putting out the apples (someone told us today that they were no good with the area mulies anyhow)  but to make the decision to rob someone of their property is without comprehension.  I work hard for everything I have and cannot afford another camera.   Even with the apples there we were hunting more than a mile away each day.  It just baffles me how someone can make the instant decision to be a complete dirt-bag.

I'm making a report to both the WDFW as well as Kittitas Co. Sheriff's.  If anyone sees pics from a Moultrie with a serial number ending in 4713 then you too will know who this scum is.  If I see this guy on the water again in his 17' Fisher (WA 81xxxx) I'll do everything in my power to have the law there before you arrive back at the ramp.

Not the way I wanted to enter this forum but from this thread it seems like I am far from alone with this issue.

Thats what we do. We put cheap Wildveiws in the brush watching our good cameras and treestands on propertys where theres a chance of something happening to them. We caught this guy stealing a camera and a feeder. He ended up giving all our stuff back when we got the sheriff involved.

Outfitter, was the guy charged with any crime? It's evident he is armed in the process of a crime from the picture.

Stealing is bad stuff. Both sides are out for blood if an encounter happens. The thief will try to defend themselves etc. A friend was being robbed of traps near Glacier, Alaska so he set up a personal sting. Kept a close watch on his trap line and viola found tracks one morning of someone on his line. Sure enough traps were missing as he followed him in. Dave chose to hide in a nice secluded spot on the trail. When the *censored* came along he suddenly stopped as he saw another set of prints. Dave said as he started to lower himself to the ground Dave told him from behind not to move a muscle 'cause he'd shoot him. Well a practice of stubborn wills set it between the two, both men are big, so Dave waited him out as they faced each other. The thief had a rifle but he had in in one hand some other crap in the other. Dave watched the bugger for a time and made his move. Butt stroked the thief in the face breaking his nose and busting up some other bones. Dave waited for the guy to get his legs under him and then made him walk back to the trucks along the Glenn highway. There Dave flagged a passing car and asked for assistance with the troopers. Cells don't work well in that area(plus this was back when cell phones where the size of a small brief case), Cohoho knows the area. Dave was not entirely Scot Free on the matter as the guy claimed Dave was the trap jumper etc. But Dave had his ID numbers engraved on his traps. They were hidden by the wax, but once cleaned off there they were. The Thief was charged with stealing off a trap line, Dave was told to call the Dept. next time and not to take the Law into his hands as he could of been killed, or worse he could of killed the Thief.

live feed camers placed high up in the trees just so they look down on ur game gameras work.I hate theives but they are good target practice.

I had my camera stolen the week of muzzleloader elk season in NE Washington.  I came to check it after 7 days and to my behold it was gone.  I could not believe it!  I was on an old grown in road with trees blown across and when I came to check it the road was cut out by someone on a 4-wheeler who was too lazy to walk in.  Don't get me wrong I don't have it out for people on 4-wheelers but it gives them a bad name.  This was my first camera and I was starting to have fun with it.  It made me want to spike the road but I have better morals than that.

Unbelievable!!! And the guy is packing too, is that just in case he is confronted trespassing and stealing by the landowner?

We talked to a guy this weekend that told us he was checking his newly purchased 20 acres and noticed that all his No TRespassing signs were taken down, about 20 of them. Then he found a tree stand some a$$hole had put up What are these idiots thinking? He said he is just waiting to catch the guy, thats going to be a serious a$$ wooping, the landowner is a giant

In that case, I think it would be good to actually take someone else's property. If he was stupid and inconsiderate enough to pull down the private property signs and then put up a tree stand... well if it were me, I'd have a new treestand. On his property, it becomes his property.
