Vancouver/Portland area vet recommendations
« on: February 21, 2013, 05:04:37 PM »
Can anyone here recommend a vet in the Vancouver/Portland area? Someone who gets bird dogs, or at least working dogs, would be optimal.

Wilsonville Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Ray Calkins

Another vote for Dr. Ray, Great guy, seen him hand off a dog he was to run for someone else to handle while he vetted a horse that was cut REAL bad by barbwire at fort lewis.
That's for the south for the North country up here my Vet is a Rockstar,he used to breed brittianys, and has hunted his entire life,he also knows how a birddog works. Dr. Todd Perry, Fountain Vet in Bellingham. His family originally from the palouse and a second generation WSU vet school grad.My family been going to that clinic since 1965.

Dr Calkins sold his practice and I don't think he is there any more.

Try Dr Eric Atwell at Orchards Vet Clinic. Its right off the freeway at 4th Plain.

Salmon Creek Vet on Hwy 99 in Vancouver, WA

I believe Cleveland was the Vets last name.

A few years back our lab was out duck hunting and got tangled in barb wire, sliced the dogs thigh pretty good. The vet was great and said that our lab looked like a dog he would want by his side bird hunting.
Fresh meat. Learning the proper etiquette for hunting as I go.
