i have a nightforce 5.5-22x56 with np-r1 reticle on my .338 TRG 42 and after seeing and using a nightforce scope....makes me wonder why you'd get anything else (unless you're paying more)...i know he downgraded by buying the bushnell but hey...maybe it will workout alright for him.

buddy just put a custom US optics on his lappy trg. Got the windage adjustment turret put on the left side. it's pretty slick.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

buddy just put a custom US optics on his lappy trg. Got the windage adjustment turret put on the left side. it's pretty slick.
if i was going any more expensive than nightforce i'd go with USO...excellent scope!

nxs is no joke either. once you are up to that price range, might as well start looking at going the extra mile for a PMII.

My buddy is getting ready for a shoot in poland. I was gonna go be his spotter but the guvmint got me doing something else.

nightforce, S&B, USO, etc...they're all top class scopes. i don't think you could go wrong either way. i'd still love to put them side by side and take a look.

must be nice!...where i live nobody ever buys anything legit so i never get the opportunity to look through a wide variety of quality optics.

All of them track well, none of them broke, but the schmidty glass was head and shoulders above the competition.

Id Go with a night force with the horus retical.

EXACTLY!!!  Don't have to dial elevation, and windage is right there.  No guessing like a mil-dot. 

I'm more of a Kahles fan myself, glass seems brighter somehow, but that's just me.

I have a NF 3.5-15x50 F1 woth MLR reticle (it the army spec version), works great for my needs. Has enough adjustment to allow any supersonic shot with my 270..IMHO, this scope is kinda overkill for my application, but on a 338L, it would be perfect. I have at times had to back it down to 10-11 power to get rid of mirage, so I honestly do not see the need for a scope with more magnification than 15 power...
